Yesterday, City Council, staff, contractors and residents celebrated the grand opening of Tsushima Bridge and the first phase of John Muir Parkway. Residents who live near Tsushima Street are encouraged to use the new passage which provides easy access to Interstate 80 and Highway 4. Since many drivers will take this new route, the bridge and parkway are expected to bring much needed traffic relief at the intersection of Sycamore and San Pablo.
Approximately 50 people walked across the new bridge to enjoy cookies and punch after the ribbon cutting ceremony which took place on the south side of the bridge.
