The need has never been greater and it’s never been easier to make a difference in our community. The City of Hercules is partnering with local businesses to collect clean, gently used coats, jackets and other warm apparel as part of the One Warm Coat Drive. Coats of all shapes and sizes are welcome. We will also be collecting new socks and underwear (Mens L-XXL are the most needed) to donate to the Bay Area Rescue Mission.
The program is an easy way for you and your family to pass along coats and jackets that you no longer need. Donating a coat is simple. Just bring your clean, gently used coats and jackets to one of the following locations between December 4, 2009 and January 8, 2010:
City of Hercules City Hall-111 Civic Drive
Hercules Wellness Center- 500 Alfred Nobel Ste 175
Sycamore Hills by the Bay-1550 Sycamore Avenue
Broadway Rhythm Dance Company-250 Parker Avenue in Rodeo
Hercules Fitness Center-600 Alfred Nobel Drive
Dynamic City Skate Shop-2150 Railroad Avenue
You can also drop off warm apparel and new socks and underwear during two special drop off days at Lucky Supermarkets and Big Lots in Hercules on Saturday, December 12 and Saturday, December 19 from 12:00PM-4:00PM both days. Student volunteers from Hercules Interact and the KIWINS will be assisting with these special drop off days.
Please make sure to check the businesses regular operating hours before dropping off items. For questions, please call the City of Hercules at 510-245-6533 or the Hercules Wellness Center at 510-741-8300.
