The City of Hercules believes in our teen and youth population. Our goal is to provide programming that will foster human development, promote health and wellness, and increase cultural unity with life experiences. As our youth grow into teens, we want to give them a sense of belonging to the community and empower them to gain the confidence and ownership needed. Teen/Youth Council-T.Y.C. (Ages 10-18)
The City of Hercules Teen Youth Council (T.Y.C.) is always on the go supporting and assisting with community activities and special events. Our energetic group of 6th-12th graders demonstrate leadership skills through their participation at City Council meetings, interaction with the Hercules Senior Center and their participants, and the planning of special community events. This successful program recruits active members from our very own community. If you enjoy working in our community and are great with decision making, this program is for you!

T.Y.C. Members serve as an advisory board to the Hercules Parks & Recreation Department, Community & Library Services Commission, and the Hercules City Council to give advice and make recommendations relating to the needs of the teen population of Hercules. Members also stay informed of teen and youth related issues, identify the needs, and take action to rectify when necessary.

Membership is open to teens and youth in grades 6-12. Members may be selected to participate on the executive board to represent the Middle and High School. For more information about this program email Jeff Jew or call (510) 799-8295.
