William Imboden Appointed Hercules Police Chief
William Imboden, the current Chief of the St. Helena Police Department, and a former Hercules Police Department employee, has accepted employment as the next Hercules Chief of Police. Bill rose to the top through a national recruitment process and the City is fortunate to have been able to attract such a high caliber person to serve as the next Police Chief. Chief Imboden will be starting his employment on September 17, 2018.
“I am looking forward to working with Bill as the Hercules Police Chief,” said David Biggs, Hercules City Manager, “and believe he will be a truly great addition to our City Management Team and the Hercules Police Department.”
Chief Imboden has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Management and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Chief Designate Imboden said “The Hercules Police Department has a fine team in place and I am excited to be coming back to a Department of which I have such fond memories and I am looking forward to be returning to my roots.”
Since the retirement of former Chief Bill Goswick in July, the Acting Police Chief has been Commander Thomas Koeppe who has done an excellent job and he will return to his role as Commander.
