Crockett Refinery Explosion - Shelter In Place Lifted and I-80 Open

10:00 P.M. - The shelter in place advisories for Hercules/Rodeo/Crockett has been lifted.  Interstate 80 is now open in both directions.

5:15 P.M. - Unfortunately, with the fire having refreshed in Crockett, the Shelter in Place advisory for Hercules north of Highway 4/John Muir Parkway has been reinstated.

5:30 P.M. - The shelter in place for Hercules/Rodeo has been lifted. Highway closures still in effect. 

3:15 P.M. - In response to an explosion and fire at an oil storage facility in Rodeo/Crockett, it is recommended that people shelter in place due to air quality concerns for parts of Hercules east of Highway 4/John Muir Parkway. Close windows, shut off air conditioning and remain indoors. Traffic disruptions are expected as Highway 80 is closed in both directions. The City has activated its Emergency Operations Center to monitor events.
