Many community members have expressed concerns about the Coronavirus. The City of Hercules has been monitoring the situation and frequently checking the Contra Costa County Health Services and CDC websites for the latest information regarding recommendations to help keep us all healthy and safe.  An information sheet that is directly from the County Health website about the coronavirus (covid-19), and any associated symptoms to look for can be accessed here: Contra Costa County Health Services Information Sheet.  They have also provided an illness symptom screening tool for parents and caregivers. Both of these materials provide some answers to frequently asked questions.

Contra Costa Health Service also provides an interim guide for social distancing.  The recommendations outlined in the document go into effect March 10, 2020:  Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Interim Guidance for Social Distancing

Our goal is to continue to provide services as long as it is safe.  The City will continue to follow the advice from the Contra Costa County Health Services and CDC.  Should we learn of any new information or updates in the coming days and weeks we will keep you informed to the best of our ability.  In the meantime, cover your cough and/or sneezes, wash your hands with soap and water or use an alcohol based hand sanitizer on a frequent basis.

Please note:  If the West Contra Costa School District decides to cancel classes, the City will follow suit and close its before and after school, and daycare programs as well.
