The City is undergoing an ambitious project to upgrade it’s sewer conveyance system from Duck Pond Park on Sycamore Avenue opposite the Corporation Yard to the Pinole-Hercules Water Pollution Control Plant located at the bottom of Tennant Avenue in Pinole.  The existing system consists of a 24-inch pipe that was installed in 1972.  It has served its full service life and additional capacity is needed to convey effluent from new development up to future build-out.  The design will take approximately a year, and will be following by construction of the new system in 2020.  The project is estimated to cost $8M and is funded through the Sewer Fund.

The project was approved by the City Council on January 8, 2019.
